ILERA conference is looking for student volunteers

The ILERA Conference is an international conference held from Thursday 20 until Saturday 22 June 2013 in Amsterdam. The theme of the conference is Imagining new employment relations and new solidarities. The International Labour and Employment Relations Association (ILERA) is a global association hosted by the International Labour Organization (ILO) of the United Nations (UN). The conference organizing committee is looking for volunteers to help during the conference.

Student volunteers

We are looking for a small group of students who would like to be part of the conference organization and help the speakers and visitors of the conference. The conference will be held in the Oudemanhuispoort complex, which is beautifully situated but also a maze of corridors and rooms and can be hard to figure out for a visitor from the other side of the world. Students could welcome and register arriving guests (we expect about 300 visitors) and be present at one of the 9 presentation rooms to help out with the equipment or during plenary sessions with a mobile microphone for questions.

Being a volunteer at the ILERA conference provides you with an opportunity to meet people from all over the world and to listen to top speakers on issues like employment relations, labour market developments and labour law. Volunteers can pick a session or symposia of their choice to be present at. You can find the descriptions of sessions and papers that will be presented in the program. As local organizers at the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Labour Studies (AIAS) we would like to arrange a meeting in early June to get to know each other and walk through the conference venue and acquaint ourselves with the presentation equipment. We would appreciate your help, wether it would be for one- or all three days. If you have questions or if you would like to participate, please contact Sean Stevenson
