Gasten

AIAS probeert haar onderzoeksnetwerk te versterken door ‘research fellows’ en internationale gasten uit te nodigen. De gasten variëren van vooraanstaande onderzoekers tot AIO’s.

In de voorgaande jaren bezochten onderzoekers, AIO’s en post-doctorale fellows van andere onderzoeksinstituten en universiteiten AIAS voor periodes variërend van een paar dagen tot een paar maanden. Indien mogelijk, nemen deze gasten deel aan conferenties, seminars en workshops.

Het beleid van AIAS is om onderzoekers en wetenschappers aan te trekken die in staat zijn om het onderzoek naar arbeidgerelateerde problemen te verrijken en te verbeteren. Voor meer informatie, neem contact op met het AIAS.

2016

  • 1 October – 15 January 2017, Assaf Shlomo Bondy, Tel-Aviv University.
    He will present an AIAS Lunch Seminar about his research on Israeli IR System and its institutional complexity and Write a report for the AIAS working paper series; “Knowledge-sharing with AIAS-UVA academic staff about IR Institutional change – in Europe and israel.”
  • 12 June – 24 June, Brian Fabo, Central European University.
    He will be working on Eduworks Marie Curie action secondment. Design and implementation of module for measurement of ICT skills in the WageIndicator Survey.
  • 6 June – 23 June, Funmilayo Juliana Afolabi, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).
  • 6 June – 17 June, Necmettin Alpay Kocak, Turkish Statistical Institute.
    He will be working on Cycles of Syncronization in Labour Markets of Europe
  • 9 May – 1 July, Nor Farah Ashikin binti Abdul Rahim, Asia-Europe Institute,University of Malaya.
    She will be assisting with drafting the content of the website on the minimum wages in Malaysia.
  • 2 May – 27 May, Nadja Doerflinger, KU Leuven, Centre for Sociological Research.
    She has given an AIAS Lunch Seminar titled: “Left outside alone? Works councils’ responses towards non-standard work in the German metal and chemical sectors”
  • 11 April – 10 June, Pinar Ezgi, Istanbul University.
    She has been working on policy framework for vocational and technical education in Turkey: international actors and EU legislation.
  • 21 March – 1 September, Rana Gürbüz Akkaya, Gaziantep University.
    She will be working on the project “Economic Crises and Female Wage Labour: Observations from the Turkish Labour Market During 2008-09 Crisis”.
  • 14 March – 18 March, Maria Lourdes Moreno Liso, University of Extremadura.
    She has given an AIAS Lunch Seminar titled: “Labour law experts mobility in Europe: professional practice in the United Kingdom, France, Portugal Germany and Spain.”
  • 8 February – 11 February, Jagriti Tanwar, Centre for Gender Research.
    She has been working on my paper, working title ‘promotion and organizational inequality’ using WageIndicator data. I primarily will try to sort out challenges using the dataset.
  • 18 January – 01 April, Angela Rauseo, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
    The main purpose of her research period at the AIAS has been to analyze the notion of solidarity, particularly among workers’ representatives
  • 11 January – 08 April, Stephen Blumenfeld, Victoria University of Wellington.
    He has been in residence at AIAS as a Visiting Scholar.
  • January 2016 – December 2019, Tabba Fares, He will be conducting a research for my PhD “New Froms of Governance of International Labour”

2015

  • 22 November 2015 – present, Declan Owens.
    He’s an external PhD Candidate with the University of Amsterdam. His promoters have been Prof. Keune and Beryl ter Haar. The subject of his PhD is European and International Labour Law.
  • 26 October – 6 November, Tomáš Kabina, Central European Labour Studies Institute (CELSI).
    She has been working with her research coordinator, Dr. Kea Tijdens, on the WageIndicator project. They have been improving the data management of the WageIndicator dataset
  • 7 September – 18 September, Egidio Riva, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (UCSC).
    He has given a lunch seminar on his recent work on: “Flexible working hours and the skill profile of the workforce in European companies: A multilevel analysis”
  • 1 September 2015 – 1 March 2016, Haruka Sasayama, Tokyo Metropolitan University.
    While at AIAS she has been studying about why part-time workers can keep their social standing in the Netherlands’ society and offices and when Japan introduces the working model of Netherlands, what’ll disturb it.
  • 15 June – 26 June, Camilla Gaiaschi, University of Milan.
    She has been working with Kea Tijdens and Stephanie Steinmetz. As for her research, she has been working on a dataset which is the result of an online survey sent to five Italian hospitals. During her stay she has been finalizing the model on the gender pay gap and to elaborate a model on vertical segregation.
  • 12 januari – 5 juni, J. (Jelena) Jonis, Vilnius University Faculty of Law Work Has been working on her PhD thesis “Temporary agency employment: theoretical and practical aspects”, collecting and analyzing information she needs. She has been planning to write a report for the AIAS working paper series.

2014

    Has been working on the project “Health, Occupation, and the role of Measurement Error” using the WageIndicator database.
  • 29 september – 3 oktober 2014, Stephen Laurence Bazen, Aix-Marseille University, GREQAM and Aix-Marseille School of Economics.
    While at AIAS he has been working together with Wiemer Salverda on new project ideas.
  • 10 Juni 2014 – 09 september 2014, Alessia Gramuglia, University of Bologna.
    Alessia has been focusing on the EU policy, with regard to informal Labour analysed from an industry perspective. She has been taking care of updating data, reporting and publishing, through research and interviews with stakeholders.
  • 3 Mei – 28 juni 2014, Stella Mia Sieling-Monas, University of Aalborg, Institute of Political Science, Denemarken.
    As visiting ph.d. researcher has been partly working on her own data and project and also participate actively in AIAS seminars and meetings.

    Has been analysing of Wageindicator Paradata (AWIPA).
  • 1 – 30 April 2014, Jagriti Tanwar, Institute of Sociology/ University of Gottingen.
    She has been exploring the wage indicator dataset as a supplement to her own survey data for on-going PhD research. Further, she and colleague (Stephanie Steinmetz) have been working on finalising an outline for joint paper on employment pattern of women in India based on these two dataset.

  • 6 – 31 Januari 2014, Bálint Tillman, IT University of Copenhagen.
    He has been involved in the feasibility research of a graph database to match individuals with job vacancies (labour market) and learning institution (education). As a result it has been made possible to set up a small prototype to such a database and test different queries and possibilities of future extensions and applications.
